May Happenings....Part 1 - Muffins With Mom

May started off with 'Muffins With Mom' at Hudson's school. As it turned out, Ryan's mom was in town...so she joined us & my mom was keeping my brother's children...so she was at preschool too! What a neat oppurtunity for us all to be together!

Is This ZOO Really Our Home?

One day recently, several of the boy's friends who live close 'showed' up at our house. I must admit I was surprised at so many showing up on the same day but loved it! That is one thing that never happened to us while living in the country! At one point, Caden just looked around and said, "Mom, is this zoo really our home?" Kids where playing basketball, riding bikes and playing in the backyard. They were all really behaving well and playing great together! I love when friends just drop by, unexpectedly...just something you learn to appreciate after being in the country where 'dropping by' wasn't to convenient!

The younger kids enjoyed bike riding while the older kids went for basketball and baseball.

Can Anyone Help Hudson?

Oh our youngest....continues to amaze us, puzzle us, send our heads spinning!
Of coarse, I say all that with lots of love! He definitely keeps us laughing and on our toes! On the way home from church, he is in his car seat just chatting away about who knows what. When we hear Caden say, "Hudson, did you just say you wanted a platypus?" Hudson replies with a big "YEP". "You know they don't do much. It can live in our backyard and swim in Grizzly's swimming pool. It could come in our house. It only makes a little noise." Ryan and I began laughing and asking him where he learned so much about a platypus. "I just know it" was his response. Ryan told him if he could find a platypus, he could have one...uh oh, for those of you who know Hudson...probably not the best thing to tell this determined child!
Our new family pet?

Since I'm posting about Hudson, I have one more story. Friday at preschool his class got to play a game of baseball. As I was walking down the hall towards his class, two teachers, not Hudson's, approached me telling me about his participation in the baseball game. From the information I received from them, I made the following list of things you could have heard our child saying during this game.
"You don't run with the bat. Put it down!"
"No, first base is that way. You're going to third."
"I am going to hit this ball out of the park."
"I throw fireball's when I pitch."
"Don't walk the bases...RUN."
Yes, we are speechless and concerned! :)

It's About That Time of the Year...

for BASEBALL! You know that means craziness for the Reagan family! But it is one of our favorite times of the year! We visited A&M over Spring Break and watched a couple of games. On Sunday, the boys ran the bases at Olsen Field and then we headed to Houston to see Ryan's sister. Here are some pics from the baseball game. Unfortunatley, by the time we got to Houston I couldn't find my camera (another reason I haven't been posting!)! However, over this past weekend I found my camera in the boys bag full of their PSP's, and other traveling gear! Sorry, Leeshie, I didn't get any photos with you!

Below I have a clip of the boys 'sawing off varsity's horns'. They weren't to sure about what was happening, as you can tell from their faces...but they'll learn!! (we hope :)

A Quick Update

I don't have any photos of the last month or two...a little lazy in that department, I guess. However, we have been busy with Rylan and Caden's basketball teams, soccer practice beginning, Ryan helping with varsity basketball, a stock market declining and a 1/2 marathon.

I will begin with Caden. He surprised us in January when he asked to play city league basketball.
Caden isn't usually one to jump into new things easily but he did this time. Ryan didn't get the opportunity to coach his team, which Ryan struggled with-of coarse, but Caden loved playing and did well. His soccer team began practicing last week. It is a fun team and it should be a a good season for them. We may get a chance to take them to their first tournament sometime this spring. Caden has been doing well in school too. He has been reading lots of chapter books and building up as many AR points as he can.

Rylan has been playing basketball with the same tournament team he played with last year. They play tournaments in surrounding towns and seem to be doing well this year. Rylan, too, chose to play soccer with the team he joined in the fall. As I write this, Rylan is at school taking his first reading TAKS test. He was a little nervous this morning but ready to get it over with! I had lunch with him today. He was a little over half way done at that point. It's been a long day for him! Rylan has also been preparing for LTC at church. I will have to post about that sometime later as we learn more.

Hudson is busy following the other two boys around! He still loves school, his 'buddies' and 'girlfriends', as he calls them. He is counting down the days until his 4th birthday! Hudson has asked several times if he can change the "number" of his birthday. This way it can come sooner!

Ryan has been having a BLAST keeping the books for the varsity basketball team here the last few weeks. His friend is the coach and needed some help after a couple of coaches moved. He got to sit on the bench during the games, ride the charter, get the free food (before and after each game!!)...his favorite part! He had way to much fun.

After Christmas, Ryan and I began training for a 1/2 marathon. We ran in Fort Worth this past weekend. I don't think I have ever seen Ryan run, unless he was chasing a ball! But, he did so good and challenged me to do better. I tried to keep track of the miles we ran beginning January 1st. I went back and added it up off my calendar. I think we had 141 training miles, plus the 13.1 miles we ran this weekend.

Well, baseball is just around the corner. We plan on visiting College Station this upcoming weekend to watch a few games of Aggie baseball. Spring Break is next week. We are all ready for a break from our daily schedule.

The Nothing's of January

Yep, that's what the Reagan's are enjoying this month...a mostly empty calendar! Other than a few basketball games here and there, we are enjoying being at home for probably the first time since we moved here a year ago this coming Sunday. So, with that, I do apologize for the lack of postings. As we get into February, our calendar tends to fill up more and hopefully, I will become inspired to add new postings. My purpose for this blog, is more of a 'journal' to myself until I can find the time once again to create scrapbooks for the boys. As an added bonus, there are several of you who seem to enjoy keeping up with us through this blog...which I love! So, I guess it is to you that I am apologizing for the dullness of this blog these days! Until then...May God bless your days!!
