Where did June go? I feel like I woke up this morning after dreaming about a month of weekend trips and very late baseball games, and now June is over! WOW! My plan for this summer was June-rest and play, July-finish baseball & prepare for going back to work, and August-work, summer over! I guess I have stuck to the plan somewhat. We have definitely played alot this month but the rest part...I don't think we have done that yet! We have spent most days sleeping late and going to bed really late!! We have stayed at the ballpark till 10:00-10:30, maybe later on nights when our kids weren't even playing! All the boys, even my dear hubby himself, beg to stay till the lights go off. I hate to admit it, but I love it. I love that all the boys share a love for something together. I love that we can all get excited about a game where we can all enjoy it. I have learned to love it but i can honestly say, I do these days.
Hudson finished t-ball on June 10th. He still prefers to go dressed in full uniform to the fields to watch his brothers. He wants to be prepared in case he is 'called' up to play. Hudson played mostly first base this year and made lots of outs there. He is a lefty unless he is at the plate. Then he seems to prefer the right side but Daddy is 'working' with him on that!! haha Last night, while watching the last game of the CWS, Hudson put on full gear, made a dugout with pillows and pretended to be playing in that game! It was hilarious because he becomes unaware that anyone else is in the room. If we leave him alone, he plays for hours. Once we say something to him, he gets embarrassed and stops. We have created a monster, I think.
Caden has played so well season. His team is in first place, with no losses in regular season. He has played catcher most games. He has pitched a couple of times. The last game he pitched, he had 13 strike outs. Caden has hit 3 grand slams and lots of home runs and others great hits. I am proud of his leadership and great attitude. His team will play in district, hoping to win and play in the state tournament! He has enjoyed sleeping late, watching tv and playing in the backyard also this summer.
Rylan, he is as tall as me...I think it's official....sigh.....at age 10, almost 11.....
Rylan has enjoyed being on the Longhorns baseball team this year. They are just a great group of coaches, players and families. It makes it really enjoyable. They are undefeated in regular season also. In fact, Rylan mentioned to me this week that it has been 4 years since he was on a team that lost a regular season game! He has been blessed to be with great players and coaches! His team will play in the district tournament in two weeks with hopes of winning it and going to state. Rylan has hit 6 out of the park home runs this season and lots of RBI's. He has done a great job catching in some really hot and humid weather.Ryan moved him up a year early to this freshman league. It has been a good choice. Rylan has competed well and even been challenged, I think! Rylan went to Camp Blue Haven the first week in June with our church. He loved it and can't wait to go back. It was a great growing experience for him. Jose, his coach, was getting married at the end of camp. Rylan flew home from New Mexico and met us in Austin to get to the wedding. He didn't even blink an eye...no biggie Mom! All the boys were in the wedding. It was so fun. Maybe I can get some pics here soon.
We enjoyed Great Wolfe Lodge this past weekend with Edward Jones. We are thankful to work for a company that values family! We are preparing for a trip to Rivera Maya very soon with the boys! We are all ready to get a little of that rest I had planned for us to get in June.
Oh, one more thing, I have bought a new camera. The one I had and loved, broke last August. I bought a small one I can stick in my purse or pocket. Dad has the big, do anything camera, I can borrow. So, I went for small and simple. All in all, life is great and we are thankful for so many things, mostly our families and time with them. Thank you God for blessing us in great ways~

Baseball Is Beginning
Tonight, it began! Baseball that is...currently our families favorite sport. We began tonight with Caden's 3rd year in the Jr. Midget league on the Cardinals. He came out of his room dressed and ready at 5:15 for his 8:00 game! He wore is "first season" cap, which is horribly filthy and very old looking but apparently extremely lucky according to Caden. He also chose his very stained pants from last season rather than his new pair. Oh Well!! Choose your battles right? It was very cool at game time. It was a bit strange to bring blankets and sweatshirts to a baseball game but that's what the weather called for this evening. Caden started the game at catcher. He showed a lot of hussle and threw one runner out at 2nd base. The kid pitching for the Cardinals tonight was 'on fire' with strike after strike! So, Caden didn't have a lot of chances to try throws to 2nd. After the score was 10 to O (us), Ryan moved kids around. Caden moved to short stop and then to center field. The final score was 13-2. At the plate, Caden hit a single and walked. At the plate for the third time, Ryan asked him to bat left handed...thinking Caden would strike out and the game would get over quicker! Well, that plan didn't work. Caden hit toward 3rd base for a single. I think he got lucky but Caden will confidently tell you differently! It was a great beginning. I just hope Rylan and Hudson's goes as well!

Spring Is Here!!
Winter seemed way to long this year...any AMENS on that? I am so glad the days are getting longer and filled with more sunshine! I guess the winter is kind of our slower time of year for kids activities. Rylan and Caden played basketball for about 6 weeks. Basketball at their age means only one practice a week (vs. sports like baseball 4x/week!!), and games usually on Saturdays. Both boys enjoyed basketball more this year than last I think. Caden played city league and did well. Then he would go to practice with Rylan's team. Rylan's coach asked Caden to suit up in case they got into foul trouble. I am not sure Rylan was very excited about this but Caden thought it was great. Caden did get to play in several games and just seemed to fit right in with the older boys! Rylan was the only one on his team who had played before. He really enjoyed his team because it was most of his close friends...which made it fun for Ryan and I too! He scored lots of points and really improved on his ball handling skills. They won 1st in several tournaments, 2nd in one and 3rd place in one tournament also. It was very enjoyable for all of us!
Hudson turned 5 on March 15th....sniff, sniff! I know he thinks he is sooo big and wants to be grown up but time seems to go to fast for me! We are seriously considering waiting until next fall to send him to kindergarten. He thinks he is ready to go and seems interested in going but I just have some doubts! Time will tell! Hudson is playing soccer again on his team the Dozers. He had his best game ever last week. He scored 7 goals! He loves playing and t-ball is starting next week. Hudson has been practicing and looking forward to tball for 4 years, I think! He got a bat bag for his birthday. He is currently packing it with his bat, glove, tballs and other things he believes are needed. I love how eager he is to play. He has so much stubbornness or desire..not sure what to call it but he is determined! Ryan and I just pray we can keep him pointed in a positive direction with that trait!
We returned from Leadership Training for Christ today. Rylan participated in puppets, speech, chorus, teaching challenge and Bible bowl. I am so proud of his efforts. It takes a lot of time, a lot of reading, a lot of patience to go through the training to partcipiate in these events. Next year Caden will be old enough to join LTC also. He was thinking about which events interested him. Tonight at church, Caden sat by me and we were sharing a song book. I loved hearing him sing loudly and full of pride. It was so encouraging to hear him. Caden seems to have such faith already! Sometimes I am amazed at the things he does for others and his perspective on things that happen around him. Rylan too has asked some serious questions about God and the things God wants us to do. It has really showed me that he is thinking and growing in the Lord. There aren't enough words to express how it feels to see your children establishing their own relationship and faith in God. I feel blessed and I am so thankful! My prayer is that we all continue to grow in our faith and knowledge!

Ooops! Neglect Again
I do apologize to my dear blog here! I have found a new friend who occupies what little computer time I get each day...facebook. However, for whatever reason I came across my blog today, it makes me realize I miss reading about things that happen in our daily lives. If I don't record these little but precious (maybe to only me) moments that happen with our children...I will never remember them. Therefore, recording them is a must! Just today, Landry came to my house with not a front tooth found in her mouth. As I giggled with her about losing her teeth, I remembered Rylan's picture when he lost several front teeth at the same time. I had no idea where the actual photo was located but I remembered it was on the blog! Not that anyone but me cares about these things but Landry and I enjoyed looking at his photo and laughing! So, I ramble all of this to say, I need to do better but realize time is an issue! I also dropped my camera off a mountain in Colorado this summer. I haven't replaced it yet. So, pictures are slow coming these days!
Hum.....what to say that has happened since our last post July 13th....yikes!
I will start with Hudson or 'Hudpup' as he prefers to be called. Wow! Does he keep us laughing, crying and wondering what have we gotten into? He still has no idea he is four. By his actions and words he will try to convince you that anything the older two do or say, he can also do. I suppose this is normal but very scary! This school year, Hudson is attending my preschool with me. It has given me an opportunity to see him learn and interact with the other kids, which I have enjoyed. He misses his friends at the other school but he enjoys our time together each day, I think. He played soccer for the first time this fall. On the day of his first practice he said, 'I finally get my OWN practice!" His team is called the Dozers. His buddy Trey is on his team. It took Ryan, Tammie and I together to coach this little team! Not that those kids were crazy, we seemed to have scheduling conflicts often! He scored numerous goals in almost every game and loved every minute of playing. Hudson is also very interested in 'learning' as he calls it. He likes for me to find worksheets and print them off for him to do his 'homework' like his brothers. He often is in his room working on writing, letters or watching his 'learning' videos as he calls them. On New Year's Eve, I told Hudson, "at midnight you know you are supposed to kiss someone you love." His response, "does anyone know where Summer lives?" Summer is a girl in his class at school! OH MY!!! Rylan and Caden laughed till they had stomach aches! Love that boy!
Caden turned 8 in December and finally lost his first tooth just after Halloween while playing in a soccer game. He was thrilled because in his eyes 'everyone' else had lost several!! He is having a good year in 2nd grade with Mrs. Deaver. He has fun teasing back and forth with his teacher who is a Tech fan, about A&M and Tech. This fall Caden also played soccer. His team did very well and even played in a tournament. His summer league baseball team went to the state baseball tournament at the end of July. I took Caden and Hudson to Tyler, Texas where we stayed from a Sunday to a Thursday. Ryan stayed here with Rylan's team as they to played in the state tournament for 10 year olds. We had a good time at the tournament. Caden pitched the first game and did an outstanding job. I think he had 11 strikeouts, definitely his best game! (I realize I am rambling about events in an out of order kind of way but when you are 7 months behind, I think you get to do that!) Caden still is the most giving person I know. He is generous with his time and money. If he has cash, you can bet he is planning on spending it on someone else. I just love that about him! We had a kickball birthday party for him on December 12th. He has lots of friends join him at our church. They played Wii, xbox, kickball, listened to loud music and I think had a fun time. I am very thankful for the friends he has in his life!
Rylan left Woodland Heights this August to start 4th grade at Coggin Elementary. He has two great teachers and in his eyes, most importantly, several great friends his in class! All the 4th graders combine in this building for 4th grade, which can be a little intimidating! I think it has turned out to be fun for the kids to meet new friends or get to be at the same school as their friends for the first time. Rylan finished up summer league baseball in July at the state tournament here in town. They won 2nd place this year....not bad for a team called the Longhorns...haha! He then decided to play soccer, again. We pushed through that this fall with Rylan really showing improvement while playing his left wing position. Everyone decided maybe he should focus on being a field goal kicker on a football team because of his strong kick, so they say!! We also made one more season of fall baseball with our favorite coach, Jose Sierra of HPU. Jose put the Hurricane team back together and played in several tournaments. The highlight of this experience was in the last tournament, Rylan finally made his 'dream' come true, as he says! He hit an out of the park homerun! It was very exciting to see him do something he had really worked hard to achieve. However, it got better the next day, when he walked up to the plate with bases loaded and hit another out of the park homerun!! oh my...couldn't help but tear up a bit! It was fun! When December came, our family was extremely glad to have sports out of our schedule for a while! Of coarse, it won't last but the break was welcomed! Rylan has experienced some struggles this fall with reading. I am proud of him for not getting to discouraged and really working to overcome. He is maybe one inch shorter than me and wearing bigger shoes than me!!! He gained 15 pounds over the summer and early fall...115 is his weight. Yikes, I have a child who will be bigger than me in just a short time! It really makes me see just how fast time goes!
Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with Ryan's family as we celebrated the wedding of his sister Alicia to Christopher in Houston. It was fabulous! Rylan and Caden wore suites, looking so handsome. Hudson wore a tuxedo as he escorted the ring bearer and flower girl down the aisle. Ryan is still praying for more economy recovery as he continues in his job! I still enjoy my part time pre-k class each day. (Now, I kinda feel like I am writing a long winded Christmas letter!) In everything, God is still God and shows us daily his blessings in our life. I should just simply blog about that, huh?
