The Nothing's of January

Yep, that's what the Reagan's are enjoying this month...a mostly empty calendar! Other than a few basketball games here and there, we are enjoying being at home for probably the first time since we moved here a year ago this coming Sunday. So, with that, I do apologize for the lack of postings. As we get into February, our calendar tends to fill up more and hopefully, I will become inspired to add new postings. My purpose for this blog, is more of a 'journal' to myself until I can find the time once again to create scrapbooks for the boys. As an added bonus, there are several of you who seem to enjoy keeping up with us through this blog...which I love! So, I guess it is to you that I am apologizing for the dullness of this blog these days! Until then...May God bless your days!!

One Last Christmas Post

I know it is a bit late but I had to finish up Christmas. I didn't post about Christmas morning or Day. So, here it goes. Santa came bringing Hudson is much anticipated "greeen 4 wheeler" and a wii for Rylan and Caden with some accessories. Add in a few Nerf guns and that was Santa's visit this year.

For Christmas lunch we headed to my parents house for the rest of the day. I am sure most everyone feels this way, but I seemed to think it more this year than any other...I wanted Christmas to come, loved decorating, wrapping, visiting but I sure was ready for it to pass!

This picture probably best sums it up...lots of fun but exhausting!! Hudson fell asleep Christmas night right after we got home, which those of you who know him, know how unusual that is!

Rylan's Buck

Several have asked if our deer hunting adventures(see post below) had been successful. Sorry I forgot to add in that detail. I guess that is an important detail!! :) Actually, Rylan shot this buck on a different night than my previous post. Here is a photo of Rylan's buck. This was his first. Caden had been trying to get a doe but it didn't work out this time.

Hunting Adventures

There are things I do that never seemed interesting to me before our boys were born. I am sure this is true for all parents. With me, the first thing I became interested in due to my parental role was a rediscovered interest in toys. Secondly, baseball began to occupy a lot of my time. When previously, I had no interest in this sport at all! In fact, I said our boys wouldn't even play that sport! Some of you are laughing at this...because now it is such a big part of our life! Well, this past weekend, the third oppurtunity for me to grow my interest as a parent of all boys happened.
Ryan recieved a phone call informing him that the deer lease was clear and he could take the boys (Rylan and Caden). So, because this all happened quickly, the big boys were getting ready and we did not have a chance for me to get Hudson away from all this camoflauge excitement. As you can imagine, this three year old did not take it well at all that he was not invited on this trip!!! Oh, there have been other times this has happened and Hudson has to just get over it. For some reason, on this day, I thought why couldn't I go and take Hudson. Ryan quickly agreed and we packed our bags as well. As the older boys packed knives, camo and guns.
Hudson and I grabbed snacks, a portable dvd player, a leapster, and a few books. And we were off. The older boys were full of advice for thier mother who had never been in a deer stand before this moment. I enjoyed the moment and secretly thought maybe Hudson would fall asleep and I would get a moment to myself.
Hudson and I dropped off the boys and headed to our stand. As we sat there, watching all the deer, I must say it was a suprisingly pleasant moment. Hudson whispered, played his games and watched deer. Ryan and I sent messages back and forth about what we were seeing. It was during one of those messages, I remembered my Christmas present from Ryan, an iphone! So, there Hudson and I sat (on top of a hill...with service in the middle of nowhere) surfing the internet, checking email and searching for video clips of the Backyardigans on youtube. Ryan was so surprised at how much fun I was having in our deer stand. He even offered to buy camoflauge for me for Mother's Day.
I think it was at that point I felt I needed to admit to him what exactly I was doing in that deer stand...shopping on Potterybarn.com!
