Rylan and Caden have BEGGED to ride their bikes to school ever since we began talking about moving into town. I have put them off for several months. Well, I finally gave in this morning. They got to bed way to late last night after baseball. I had a hard time getting them out of bed until they heard, "you can ride your bike today!" Wow, that got them up! They enjoyed it and I am sure they will continue to beg to do this more!FYI... I did follow them in the car!!

Splash Day For Hudson
Hudson's school is out for the summer! Bigger brothers are very jealous. They still have one more week. We are all ready for the summer and lots of time at the pool (of course, only on days when there isn't baseball games...thanks for that Ryan)!! Hudson had a wonderful year at preschool in Mrs. Julie's class. He is so proud he has friends and one of "his best girls", Mrs. Julie! He enjoyed splash day last week. I wish I could pull up pics of last year's splash day with Caden. Hudson had joined in with Caden's class last year to enjoy the water fun. Unfortunately, this is one more instance of regrets for losing my memory card several months ago.
Above: Some of Hudson's friends enjoy a "non dripping" Popsicle!! Ever heard of that?
Cousin Cobe and Hudson
One of Hudson's proudest moments this year...
learning to write H for Hudson! His pride has led him to write H in our car with a red marker on the ceiling, on the windows and carpet. He has added H to some of this stuffed animals and various other places we are still discovering!
One of his favorite games it for someone to write letters and let him tell you what they stand for in his mind...H for Hudson, of coarse, O for Owen, D for Dad, J for Julie, Jackson, and Jesus, M for Mommy and Mimi, P for Papa and Popie, R for Rylan, C for Caden and Cobe, T for Thomas and Trey, D for Daniel, E for Elyn, G for Grammy, L for Landry...we could go on forever!
This is Nelson and Cobe enjoying the bubble table. It had been a bit cool. Bubbles were a fun addition to Splash Day.
I know some these pictures aren't that great but Hudson can be entertained for at least an hour these days looking at our blog! He has learned how to move the mouse on the laptop to find the pics he likes!

The Best Time of The Year
After lots of practice, sleepness nights (Ryan!) and purchasing new bats...our spring baseball season began! We are the Cardinals again (after my efforts to change our team name failed)! Caden and Rylan are both on the team this year. We went from 4 games a week, to only 2 games a week. We had the first game of the season at 6:00 last night. Rylan pitched and Caden played center field, with one inning at 2nd base. It was a close game with one of our pick-up players from last season pitching on the opposing team, who happens to be one Rylan's good friends! We wouldn't call it a 'good' win. It was the first game and defiantly had its ugly moments! The Cardinals did manage to pull off a victory. Caden had a strike out, got hit by the pitcher and hit his first triple..which is impressive considering the lack of length on his legs!! He must take at least two steps to the other kids one step. He stole home with a big slide over the plate. The only action in the field for Caden was fielding a homerun by Ben (the pitcher from the other team). He made a quick good through towards home plate but the runner was safe. Rylan had 15 strike outs and 7 walks. He also had a strike out, a double, a pop-up that was caught and a walk. Hudson enjoys baseball as much as all the other boys in this family. He wears Caden's old cleats and pants. He slides and yells, "SAFE" everywhere he goes. At one point last night, he heard the umpire say 'strike 3.' Hudson turned around and said "he's out!" His friend, Trey, has a sister on our team and they play well together during the games. Summer can't get here fast enough with games starting. We get home late and up early for school! We end up with several grouchy kids in the afternoon! But, it is still our favorite time of the year!

Cowboy Time
Ryan had a regional meeting in the exciting town of Snyder recently. On Saturday, we met him there for a 'cowboy' experience. His regional leader is a lot of fun to be around and enjoys lots of rodeo activities. He set up a fun day for the families to participate in a little company rodeo! Well, I am proud???, embarrassed???, to say our family came home with no awards! In fact, I believe I was the only person to show up in capri pants and flip flops! (my parents will be very embarrassed of me) Our kids were the only ones who showed up in shorts and tennis shoes! Most had on more cowboy type attire. I must say our boys do have such clothing. For some reason, it just never crossed my mind to have them wear it that day! Yes, I did know it was going to be a rodeo. I did not dress myself or our kids appropriately as you can tell from the pictures. Oh well, we did have fun, even in flip flops! Ryan did participate in some event where he had to throw a calf down and grab a ribbon. He claims he had the fastest time and will receive a buckle proving his 'championship' at our summer meeting....we'll see! I missed his moment of glory...I had headed to the house!
I am not sure what is funnier - Marci trying to help Hudson with the goat running around (notice I did change to tennis shoes!) Ryan trying to help Rylan with roping!!
