...the kind you borrow for short periods of time from your neighbor! One of the greatest things about moving into town is getting to be closer to friends. Our friend Paul lives across the street. He recently got a chocolate lab puppy. My kids absolutely love it! I am embarrassed to say we have never let our children have the experience of a puppy. We have Grizzly, our 11 year old lab. Rylan and Caden have asked Santa for the past two years for a puppy; however, we have explained how the Santa that visits our house does not bring live animals. Ryan and I have realized it is getting close to the time when we must give in and allow them the experience of raising a puppy. In the meantime, when Paul is at work, we get a chance to be the "doggie daycare" for little Jasmine when possible! She is so cute and the boys have had so much fun playing with her. Paul gets home and wonders if she is sick because she is so tired after her visits at our house. We enjoy our time with her...and we enjoy getting to send her back home whenever we get ready! Here are some pictures of the boys with her.

Clips of Caden's Soccer Game
Caden is enjoying another season of soccer. His team is called the "Cosmos". Ryan is the coach and he has a fun little team. They have been playing together since they were four. Now most of them are six. They have worn the same uniforms each season. The first season, when Caden put on his jersey you couldn't see the number...it tucked into his shorts. It was so long on him. His shorts went down so far they almost touched his ankles! This season, that is not the case. It finally fits normally...kind of sad, he's growing up! He is number #11 this season.
Below: Hudson enjoys a little chocolate as he watches the game!
Last season, Caden scored lots of goals and showed a little aggression while going for the ball. This season he has stayed back and seemed more interested in protecting his goal! Which is fine but this morning he was negotiating with me trying to get money for scoring, etc. I told him if you score 3 goals I will get you a new webkinz...which should be another post! I didn't think he would do it. They were playing a more challenging team and he hasn't scored that many in previous games this season. Well, he scored 2 during his first quarter of play. The third one came just before the final whistle! I guess I will be going shopping on Monday for yet another webkinz!

Spring Break Travels
Easter fell at the end of our spring break this year. We decided to spend this weekend in Longview at Ryan's parents. We had lots of fun shopping, visiting and watching the NCAA basketball tournament.
Earlier in the week, we went to watch A&M play Tech in baseball. The boys love to watch these games. It's kind of scary, but they have learned the yells from these games. They think it is really cool to join in with all the yelling and sound effects with all the other fans. They also got a chance to run the bases after one of the games. This was a 'huge' thing to them! We enjoyed getting away, sleeping in and going to the A&M church of christ.
We returned to Brownwood on Monday, only to leave for San Antonio on Tuesday. The boys and I met my parents in San Antonio. We went to Sea World and did a little shopping in San Marcus' outlet mall. I am sure we should have stayed home and tried to get organized in our new home but we all had the urge to get out of town! Getting back to school on Monday morning was hard for all of us after all the traveling. We needed another break! Also, notice Hudson wearing his boots with shorts...definitely, a third child when you let his slide by in a public place!
I'm Trying!!
Thanks to all of my dear friends who check my unkept blog!! I am trying (again) to return to blogging more frequently. I just have the hardest time finding the time!! Any suggestions?? So much has happened since my last post in August, the first day of school. The biggest change is our address! I finally convinced Ryan to move to town. The Lord blessed us with lots of things falling into place and we closed on a house in November. We began major remodeling....without a contractor! We were to impatient to wait 6 months for the contractor to show up. So, we began the process ourselves, only hiring individuals to do specific jobs. We moved in the first weekend in February with most of the inside completed. We continue to work on it as we have time. Being in town has been life changing for me! My days seem to have so much more time (maybe that is were blogging can fit in!) For those of you who haven't been by, come on over! It isn't complete but I love having people drop by...you never get that in the country!
Another change happened shortly after school beginning also. I got offered a part time pre-k teaching job. It is through BISD and Houston Medical Center. It is a 2 year grant. I work from 8:00 -11:30 following the public school schedule. It has been stressful, fun and crazy all at the same time! I think the hardest part is that I wasn't looking for work. It just showed up one morning! So, I had little time (a weekend) to prepare. Of course, we have had all the sickness that all of you have had too! Well, those are all my excuses! Thanks for hanging in there with me.
